  22. With the archive-lister you can view the contents of an ARC, ARJ, HYP,
  23. LZH, PAK, SQZ, UC2, ZIP or ZOO archive (also there SFX variants), the
  24. archive-lister also can view archives in archives (up to 16 deep).

  26. The archive-viewer can be used to view files, edit files, or manipulate
  27. archives.

  61. AVIEW.CTL is an plain ascii-file that can be edited to fully configure

  74. With the following commands you can define the parameters that must
  75. be used for the external archiver-utilities, the 'xxx' in the
  76. commands must be replaced by ARC, ARJ, HYP, LHA, PAK, SQZ, ZIP, UC2
  77. or ZOO.

  79. There are two variables, %A and %F, thes two must ALWAYS exist in one
  80. of the commands (except xxxRESPONSE), %A will be replaced by AVIEW
  81. with the name of the archive processed, and %F with a filename for
  82. adding/deleting/updating, note that AVIEW will automatically add the
  83. response-file-char before the filename when needed. The variables %A
  84. and %F are NOT optional!

  92. With this command you instruct AVIEW to NOT extract any paths from
  93. archives when the extract function is used.

  97. With this command you tell AVIEW how to swap before an external
  98. utility is executed, there are 5 modes:
  99.  
  100. 0 - Swap to EMS/Disk.
  101. 1 - Swap to EMS/XMS/Disk (Default).
  102. 2 - Swap to XMS/Disk.
  103. 3 - Swap to XMS/EMS/Disk.
  104. 4 - Swap to Disk.

  108. With this command you define the directory where AVIEW must write
  109. his swap-files when used, use a ramdisk to speed-up AVIEW.

  115. With this command you force AVIEW to wait for a keypress after
  116. each external utility executed.

  120. With this command you can select the alternate screen-layout of the
  121. archive-lister as default (With full-path), this option works like a
  122. toggle in AVIEW by pressing ALT-L.

  126. With this statement you can define how the file-date is shown, include
  127. MM for month, DD for day and YY for year, the sepparation-chars can be
  128. freely defined, default is MM/DD/YY

  132. With this statement you force AVIEW in black and white mode, this can
  133. be handy for laptop-users who have a LCD-Screen.

  137. With this statement you force AVIEW to ignore the mouse when detected.

  139. VIEWER <Trigger> <Viewer> [<Parameters>]

  141. With this command you can define up to 32 viewers, with <Trigger> you
  142. specify the file-extension which must trigger the viewer, the <Trigger>
  143. may include wildcards. Default viewer when non-defined is WPVIEW for
  144. all type of files.

  146. The variable %F can be used to pass the file-name selected in AVIEW to
  147. the viewer.

  151. EDITOR <Trigger> <Editor> [<Parameters>]

  153. With this command you can define up to 32 editors, with <Trigger> you
  154. specify the file-extension which must trigger the editor, the <Trigger>
  155. may include wildcards. Default editor when non-defined is NCEDIT for
  156. all type of files.

  158. The variable %F can be used to pass the file-name selected in AVIEW to
  159. the editor.

  165. With this command you define the path where files must be extracted to,
  166. when this command is NOT used, AVIEW will prompt you for a path.

  172. With this statement you can define how many lines per screen AVIEW must
  173. use, valid number of lines are 25, 35, 40, 43 and 50, note that a
  174. number greater than 25 needs a EGA of VGA display-adapter.

  176. SORT <Key> [Ascending|Descending]

  178. With this statement you can define how AVIEW must sort the archive-list as
  179. default, valid sort-keys are: NAME, EXTENSION, ORGSIZE, CMPSIZE,
  180. DATETIME, METHOD and UNSORTED, optional you can specify with ASCENDING
  181. or DESCENDING the default sort direction, default is ASCENDING.

  185. With this statement you can define how AVIEW must sort the file-selector
  186. list as default, valid sort-keys are: NAME, EXTENSION, SIZE, DATETIME
  187. and UNSORTED, optional you can specify with ASCENDING or DESCENDING
  188. the default sort direction, default is ASCENDING.

  192. With this command you define the path AVIEW must use as work-directory,
  193. this can be a ram-drive which will speed-up AVIEW dramatically, when
  194. the directory does not exist, it will be created.

  200. With this command you tell AVIEW to remove the complete TEMPPATH when

  205. As default, AVIEW only deletes tempry files.

  219. With this command you define the virus-scanner to use after files are
  220. unpacked with the unpack function, when no scanner is defined, no
  221. virus-scan will be performed.

  225. With this command you define the zoom-speed of the popup-windows to
  226. build up onto the screen, 0 means immediate popup, default is 10

  287. The file-selector is started when AVIEW is started without any
  288. file-specification or with a file-specification which contain
  289. any wildcards (* or/and ?), with the file-selector you can pick
  290. a file to view from any drive or directory.

  293. manage your files.
